French Style - Outdoor Living

We are so excited to have our French-inspired outdoor living space complete! I've had a lot of questions about my style and furniture selections so I wanted to link everything for you in one place and share our DIY's.

My biggest question lately is about our outdoor rug.

We have worked with Home Dynamix in the past and I know the rugs they offer are great quality. Trying an outdoor rug was a first for me though. I have to say, the one I ordered to try has proven to withstand our young girls, mini goldendoodle (Mingo) and the outdoor elements.

I love the pattern and it fits so well with our French Country Style.  It also added an extra element of "cozy" to our space. Without the rug, the space felt so bare and wasn't as welcoming. I'm so glad we decided to give it a try.

Another element we added was a new umbrella for the wrought iron furniture my mom gave us. I spray painted the furniture in "aged copper" and it's as good as new.

As for the dinnerware, I selected plates from Tuxton Home, napkins from KAF Home and chargers from Dollar General ;)
Our dinnerware from Tuxton Home is so versatile and perfect for any season. I love how they transition from indoor to outdoor dining with ease. They are industrial strength which is also great with kids.

Our furniture set was a bit of a splurge (I'm a thrifter/DIY'er at heart), but we needed something comfortable for our family of four and struck out on finding anything on Facebook Marketplace. We ended up ordering this 5-piece furniture set on Amazon and we were so impressed with the quality and how easy it was to put together.

It's also comfortable, easy to clean and came with a 1 year warranty on the frame. The cushions are made with a water resistant material and have a zipper so each can be removed and washed.

Our custom Maison de Mings sign as show above came from Walls of Wisdom. Not only are their signs fully customizable, they are made of canvas and built to last. I love how they look like wood and authentically vintage, but are actually light-weight and easy to hang.

Another style element I added to our space were outdoor curtains. Mine are actually tablecloths from Target and we added a basic rod to hang them.

Stripped pillow above also from KAF Home

The purpose was to add privacy and help with UV rays. A great inexpensive way to also add a bit of charm to an outdoor space.

Our light fixture is actually for indoors, but I love how well it complements our space. My husband re-wired it so we can plug it in so it's easily interchangeable. If you add a light fixture, just be sure to check if it is for indoor or outdoor use. We take ours indoors when not in use.

I hope this post gives you some ideas to add some French Style to your own outdoor living space. You don't have to break the bank to achieve the look you are going for. I always check Facebook Marketplace and local consignment stores before making a purchase.

As always, thanks for following along on our renovation journey!

Xx,

Amy
