"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us." - Anonymous

The colors and light of Provence and the Cote d'Azur have been seducing artists and writers for years. Have you ever considered visiting the French countryside?

Mat and I first traveled to Provence in 2013 and were married in a picturesque village. We fell in love with the area and try to visit as often as possible. It is our dream to one day own a stone farmhouse in the Luberon Valley.

It goes without saying that Provence has an amazing climate and gorgeous landscapes. Within hours you can be exploring hilltop villages throughout the Luberon or spending the afternoon on the Mediterranean coast.

Shopping the Provencal markets for fresh produce, flowers and brocante finds is an essential experience. Our "Tips for Shopping a French Market" were actually just featured by Flea Market Decor.

We also love following the "Artists' Trail" each trip from Aix-en-Provence to Arles. Lavender is known as "the soul of Provence." Its pleasant aroma lingers through the air and you'll find gorgeous fields of the purple plant blooming in the summertime. To bring a bit of France to our country life, we plan to add lavender to our farm later this year.

In Provence, there is truly something for everyone. Here are a few travel tips from our most recent trip.

Au revoir!
