We love visiting French Lick Resorts any time of year, but especially at Christmas! I used to visit French Lick Hotel as a child and I have fond memories staying overnight and rocking on the large veranda with my late grandmother. Our visits to French Lick were always a family affair and I remember being in awe of the architectural details at even a young age!
West Baden Springs Hotel was renovated in 2006 and with its European elegance and glamour, it would also be a stay to remember! As newlyweds, my husband and I made visiting West Baden a yearly event. Now that we have our own family, we love to come a few times a year. It is one place we feel like we can truly relax. For us, French Lick is just a few hours away, but staying at the resort is like taking a trip down memory lane! It is a quiet property with fun for the entire family. We love the large indoor pool and hot tub, spa, bowling and restaurants. The resort also offers a casino and world-renowned golf course!
The French Lick and West Baden Springs Hotels are part of "French Lick Resort" and guests can easily go between properties. You can take the rail trolley or vintage shuttle for free.
This trip we stayed at West Baden Springs Hotel and as always - the Christmas décor was breathtaking!
The architectural details of both properties are absolutely amazing! I find inspiration during each visit!

Our room opened up to the atrium and in the evenings we left our balcony door open to hear the soft piano music in the background.
This trip, we also spent one afternoon exploring French Lick Hotel with our girls.
French Lick Hotel was established in 1895 and is a classic American hotel! It truly offers something everyone can enjoy; whether it’s golf, spa, bowling, hiking, biking, swimming or shopping!

While at French Lick, we enjoyed appetizers at the Power Plant Bar & Grill (highly recommend the pretzels and cheese) and visited Pluto's Alley for bowling. There is also an arcade and pizzeria at French Lick Hotel!

We also checked out the life size Christmas displays. The girls loved writing letters to Santa!

After a day exploring, we let the girls swim and then we got ready for dinner! We love the large indoor pool and hot tub at West Baden Springs Hotel. It is always fun for the entire family!
The girls had been begging to dress up for a fancy meal so this trip we brought our Christmas outfits. A kind guest offered to take our family photo with the large tree in the atrium.

This was also our first year to explore the outdoor gardens at night. Our girls are older now and the weather cooperated - it was so beautiful and peaceful! Carriage rides are offered four nights a week - we would highly recommend one at night to see all the beautiful lights! For our girls, it was a highlight of the trip!

Last, but certainly not least, you have to visit The Stables at French Lick Resort! Our girls love the pony rides and they also offer trail rides for both experienced or inexperienced riders over 8 years old.

We are already dreaming of our next trip, hopefully in the spring! If you are in the Midwest, I would highly recommend adding French Lick Resort to your bucket list! It is a MUST SEE and is the perfect weekend getaway if you are local!
