50 Days of Lights
Winter is such a beautiful time to visit the resort!! We happened to be at West Baden Springs Hotel for the grand tree lighting ceremony in November and the holiday lights stretch all the way into the new year. Weather permitting, we love to take an evening stroll to take in all the lights. French Lick Resort has over half a million lights brightening the resort!
Inside, the gorgeous architecture is sure to take your breath away!

Pluto's Alley & Pizzeria
Pluto's Alley & Pizzeria is located in the lower level of French Lick Hotel.
If you happen to be staying at West Baden Springs Hotel (like us) you can hop on the trolley or one of the free shuttles that run between the properties. The bowling alley has six lanes and is fun for all ages! We usually go around lunchtime or early afternoon so we can grab a slice of homemade pizza from Pluto's Pizzeria to enjoy while we bowl.
Our young girls always love visiting the arcade which happens to be in the same facility as the bowling alley. Be sure to bring extra quarters!
West Baden Springs Hotel (Indoor Spa & Pool)
The heated indoor pool, hot tub, spa, and gym are family favorites! I really can't say enough. Everything is located in the same area. Of all the amenities, this is what we always enjoy the most! During the warmer months, the outdoor pool is open, but it is extra special to swim when there is snow outside in the indoor heated pool! Everything is open so my husband and I can enjoy the hot tub, but still keep a close eye on our girls while they swim.
We have been to the pool at all hours and have never had an issue with it being too crowded. As a matter of fact, most of the time we go, it is empty so we have the entire pool to ourselves! I would also highly recommend making a spa appointment - talk about relaxing!! I could write an entire blog post just about the spa - I love it so much!! It is clean and luxurious, and the staff is so friendly.
Gingerbread Man Scavenger Hunt
This was our first time participating in this activity at French Lick Resort. It was a fun activity for the girls and we got to see so much of the property.
Our girls love the pony ride - it is such a peaceful and serene experience for kids!
Fun fact: Our eldest daughter's love of horses began at The Stables (on her 1st pony ride) and she is now taking professional horse riding lessons. She also started a small business (at 7 years old) to begin saving her money for a horse of her own. It is called "The Sparkling Saddle." She makes handmade bracelets and sells horse-themed jewelry. Her shop is not currently online, but if you are interested in purchasing an item from her, feel free to e-mail thesparklingsaddle@gmail.com. Who knew that a simple afternoon activity at French Lick Resort would fuel a love of horses and a new small business?!
I hope you have found this blog post helpful as you plan your upcoming trip to French Lick Resort! It is a 2.5-hour drive for us and is truly the perfect weekend getaway!! We can't wait for our next trip!
