Visiting French Lick Resort has become a family tradition that we look forward to with each new season. Spring is a beautiful time to visit!

We love that the resort is a relaxing getaway, and there are kid-friendly activities too! It’s truly a wonderful place for us to slow down and connect as a family!

Visiting The Stables is always a highlight of our stay! The property is tucked back in a beautiful wooded area bordering the Hoosier National Forest and as a guest, the free shuttles will drop you off right at the door.

Our girls actually went on their first pony ride at The Stables three years ago. At the time, I would have never dreamed the experience would have captivated our young girls so much. Looking back, it was that initial pony ride that encouraged a love of horses in our young girls. 

The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Over the years, we have gotten to know several of the employees at The Stables and we always enjoy seeing their familiar faces! Our girls know many of the horses by name and always have to say hi to a few of their favorite ponies - Pepsi, Cherry Pop, and Sprite! 

Our oldest, in particular, said she knew from her first ride on Sprite that she wanted a horse of her own someday. Even months after the getaway experience, she kept asking about Sprite. We decided to enroll her in horse riding classes locally which she has loved! She had been dreaming of turning 8 years old so she would be old enough to go on a trail ride at The Stables. This was finally her year and we made it happen over spring break. In her words, "It was the best day of her life!" 
The Stables offer guided trail rides ranging in length from 45 to 90 minutes. We love how there are different options based on experience level. 

The Stables property is well maintained and has so much to offer from horseback riding to a small barnyard with other animals, a gift shop, a play area, and more!  

We are already planning our summer trip to visit again!
