Hope - Word Necklace

Happy Tuesday friends!! Thanks for stopping by this little blog of mine.

I wanted to share a talented maker friend with you - Sheila from Dandelions in December. She recently shared her story on Instagram about how she started her small business.

I love how she describes it:

Dandelions In December is about remembering.

Dandelions In December began because of a girl going through a very hard time. A time when things weren't going as planned....you know, things that weren't "supposed" to happen. Like dandelions that grow in December, sometimes things happen in our lives that are just out of the ordinary. Dandelions are supposed to grow in the spring and summer. Not in winter!

But life doesn't always go according to plan. I was in one of those times and I made myself a word necklace (my word was "Release") and a Bible verse necklace (my verse was "Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10). These spoke to me - to remind me that God was with me no matter what and that I needed to let go and trust. As I made those necklaces for myself, I looked around me and saw that those that I love were each going through their own struggle. So, I made them their own verse and word necklace.

Isn't that beautiful!? I loved her idea of making a word necklace. I have had the opportunity to get to know Sheila and when I read her story, I knew I wanted her to make me a necklace with my word of the year - "Hope."

As a child of God, the word “hope” really resonates with me — to be expectant and fully trust Him.  I love this verse.

With every season, I begin to more clearly see the Lord’s faithfulness. Entering into 2018, I felt hopeful for the new things to come in both my personal life and business.  I wanted to put my HOPE in God as I know my truest joy is in His fellowship and His grace.

I asked Sheila if she could incorporate lavender into my necklace design as well. I've always loved it and it reminds me of the lavender fields in Provence.

Have you ever noticed that our logo is made of a circle of lavender? It represents refinement, grace, and elegance. Lavender holds a sacred place in nature, and with its violet flowers is often considered the most delicate and precious.

I love how the necklace turned out and can't wait to wear it!
