Anyone else love a warm cozy drink on a cold night? Whether you are spending the evening in or having guests over for a fall party, I wanted to share my favorite Harvest Hot Chocolate recipe with you! It is the ultimate comfort drink to be enjoyed through autumn and winter.
HOW TO MAKE HARVEST HOT CHOCOLATE
Ingredients needed:
- Heavy or double cream
- Chocolate (we prefer dark)
- Drinking cocoa powder
- Apple cider
- Vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves
To make this stove top Harvest Hot Chocolate, heat your saucepan (we love our Denby USA cast iron) over medium-high heat. Add the heavy cream, chocolate, and cocoa powder. Stir until melted and smooth - mixture should be hot. Next, add the apple cider, vanilla extract, and spices, and whisk until combined. Heat the mixture until very warm, but do not boil.
Pour into mugs or heat-proof glasses, top with whipped cream and a pinch of cinnamon, and serve immediately.
Our new favorite mugs are from Denby USA! I love how they compliment our dinnerware set and transition so well from season to season.
The timeless, neutral tones and shape design of Denby's Natural Canvas make it a range suited to any home's style and color and works equally well when mixed and matched with other items.
For a party, consider offering a variety of toppings such as mini chocolate chips, marshmallows, finely chopped nuts, crushed ginger snaps or sprinkles. We always like a little something salty with sweet and nuts make a perfect pairing.
I hope you enjoy this recipe! If you try it, but sure to tag me at @maisondemings.
As always, thank you for following along!
