French-inspired Brunch

A fancy, French-inspired brunch? Yes, please!! After a morning spent in our flower garden, I felt inspired to set a pretty table. Doesn’t the fresh cut amaranth make such a statement?

It isn't very often that my husband and I have a morning to ourselves. It was the perfect opportunity to go all out for brunch. It truly felt like we were at Ladurée ☺️

We turned up our favorite French music and while I sliced the pumpkin bread and set the table, my husband worked on an elegant fromage (cheese) platter and his famous omelets. To help set the mood, candles are always a good idea. Ours are beeswax.

Let me be clear - fancy does NOT have to be homemade 😉 The pumpkin bread... it is from Fresh Market. It came in a loaf and I simply cut it and placed it on a pretty riser. The French cheese was also from Fresh Market.

As you can see, for a fancy tablescape, it’s ALL about presentation.

Use a pretty platter and a little fresh rosemary and voilà!!

We use our "good china" on a regular basis, but for an extra bit of elegance, I grabbed our linen napkins and knives by Cangshan Cutlery. We also used our copper chargers and Denby dinnerware set.

You guys know I love copper - it is rare for me ever to style a tablescape without it! My best recommendation for new copper serving ware and cookware is Sertodo Copper. We love their copper pitcher and mixing bowls - we use daily. You can read more about other products I love and why here.

I also have to share about this new juice we found which is imported from Egypt. The mango is hands down the BEST juice ever. The pear is good too, we just prefer the mango 😉 We found both at Fresh Market and since we live over an hour from our nearest store, my husband has already inquired about ordering an entire case - it’s THAT good!!

One other new-to-us product I wanted to share with you is this Opinel Tour de France engraved knife. It is stainless steel with a beechwood handle. Perfect for slicing apples or for a picnic on the go!

I hope this gives you some ideas for your own French-inspired brunch. Go foraging and use your good china!

The meal can even be something you placed to-go and decided to make “fancy” for your spouse or family. Sitting around a table and sharing a device-free meal will NEVER go out of style.

Bon chance,

Amy
