Door Makeover with Grandeur Hardware

This is a sponsored post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

It's the time of year to start planning upcoming home improvement projects! Have you ever considered updating your door hardware? It is such an easy way to add charm and elevate the look of your home.

Before I get into the details of our most recent interior door makeover project, I feel like I need to give you a little back story. Many of you know, but we purchased our first home back in 2018 and since then we've tackled a number of interior and exterior renovation projects. Our vision was to bring a bit of France to our country life and for our home to possess a true "French Farmhouse Style."

This photo was actually the "after" of our first renovation of our laundry room area:

This room originally had laminate flooring, smoke-stained wall paper and a large cabinet that made the area feel very small. We removed the cabinet, added vertical shiplap and painted everything - all the walls, trim, doors and ceiling in Simply White by Benjamin Moore. The transformation was amazing, but I couldn't help but dream how changing out the door hardware and adding some door trim would elevate the look of our home.

The door hardware throughout our home wasn't very consistent - some was a vintage bronze while other areas were 70's gold. Luckily, all of our hinges were antique brass though. As we considered updating the door hardware, I kept coming back to these considerations as I searched various options online:

  1. Does it reflect our love for French style?
  2. Will it complement our vintage chandeliers, champagne bronze fixtures and existing hinges?
  3. Would a lever or regular knob work best for our lifestyle?

After much research, we decided to look for an antique brass lever. I felt like a lever would be easier to open for our children and would help us achieve French-inspired design. The antique brass would also pair well with the other vintage accents in our home.

Did you know that door levers originated in Europe, as did most door hardware? Levers were all we saw in Provence for both exterior and interior doors.

This year, we are so excited to be partnering with Grandeur Hardware to give our existing interior doors a much needed makeover.

I selected their Arc Short Plate with Gerogetown Lever in Vintage Brass for our bedroom, bathrooms, closets and two exterior doors. I'll have another blog post coming soon to feature the transformation of our entry doors.

Below is the bathroom door with the new trim, but with the old door hardware. The trim was such a small upgrade, but with major impact - especially in our hallway!

Adding the new Grandeur Hardware gave our door the touch of French charm I had hoped to achieve!

AFTER

The space feels so much more welcoming now and fits our style. When friends and family stop by now, they often ask if we purchased new doors. It's amazing how small upgrades can transform a space.

Take our hallway as another example:

Before we added any trim, I tapped off each door and "lived with it" for a few days to see if I liked the visual change. Again, with new hardware, trim and paint - our hallway was transformed!

Here are a few views from inside the rooms that align our hallway. I love the new levers and our home definitely feels more like Provence to us :)

This last view is one of my new favorites!! The door hardware complements each room so well!

As always, thanks again for following along on our renovation journey! I would love to hear your thoughts below.

xx,

Amy
