This is a sponsored post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
In the first series of our DIY French Farmhouse door makeover, I shared several before/after photos as well as the behind the scenes of the process. We started the makeover with updating our bedroom/bathroom door hardware and adding wood trim to add a bit of elegance. All I can say is - WOW - what a difference those changes have made to our home!
The Grandeur Hardware makes our home feel much more custom and truly like we brought a bit of France to our country life. - Amy Mings
Over the last several days, we have worked to finish the door trim and install the door hardware on our closet door and exterior doors (complete with deadbolts).
I know you guys love before/after photos and I hope this one inspires you :) I love seeing the transformation of our closet door off our entryway. Even though it was a bit narrower than our other doors, we added trim to it so all our wood doors would look cohesive.
Isn't it amazing how trim and new door hardware can completely transform a space? The entry certainly feels more crisp and refined.
One of the exterior door projects we started was just off our kitchen which leads out to our covered patio area.
I debated painting the door for contrast, but settled on leaving it white. By keeping the door neutral the new hardware was accentuated. Doesn't the door hardware complement our space so well?
We spend a lot of time outdoors and having this door off the kitchen is so convenient. During the summer, we love to have coffee on the patio and eat dinners outside as a family.
The Georgetown Lever makes it so handy to open and close the door.
On Grandeur's website, the lever didn't actually come with the Georgetown Deadbolt, but we were able to purchase each piece of hardware separately. The options to mix and match are endless and I love how their customer service team can help you achieve a custom look for your home.
Here you can see the complete view from our kitchen. The hardware's vintage brass finish complements all of our vintage chandeliers.
The last door we tackled was our other backdoor which leads into our laundry room area. This door used to be exposed to the exterior, but when the previous owners added on, they created a breezeway so this door is now enclosed.
If you look closely you can see Mingo looking at me :)
I'm so glad they left the Bedford stone and found a way to enclose this space. We use our breezeway all winter to preserve my perennials. Here's a closer glimpse of the new hardware as you enter our home. Even though this is not technically an exterior door now, we used the same cylinder deadbolt. I love the extra layer of protection.
Here is the interior view of our door in the laundry area. Since we don't have a designated "laundry room," I am forced to keep up with laundry :) I actually love how handy this is though. It is close to the backyard so I can hang up clothes outside in the warmer months.
Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with the Grandeur Hardware! Their products are top quality and are created from solid (not plated) forged brass. I love how the levers add European charm and how sturdy and well made they look and feel.
I hope this blog post series inspires you to tackle some simple projects in your own home this spring - and even consider updating your door hardware. These were such easy changes for us with major impact. As always, thank you for following along!
Au revoir,
Amy
The door definitely looks better now and, as I can see, the process of making this door is not complicated. You only must have a desire for it. If you want more, there so many interesting ideas on posted online .
