Are you hosting a family gathering this upcoming holiday season or did you volunteer to bring a dessert? You've got to try this EASY one-pot recipe!! My husband doesn't normally like desserts, but this one won him over! I call it "Apple Dump Cake" because you can literally dump in the ingredients, place it in the oven and voilà - you'll have yourself a crowd pleasing dessert in an hour with only about 1-3 minutes of prep time!! I don't know about you, but I would much rather spend time styling the table vs. working in the kitchen :)HOW TO MAKE ONE-POT APPLE DUMP CAKE WITH SALTED CARAMEL
Ingredients needed:
- 1 20oz can apple pie filling
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup cinnamon/sugar mix
- 1/2 cup salted caramel chips
To make this One-Pot Apple Dump Cake with Salted Caramel, grab your pot (we love our Denby USA cast iron). Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. Add cooking spray to baking dish. Dump in the 20oz can of apple pie filling. Add the box of yellow cake mix. Pour 1/2 cup of melted butter over the top of cake box. Do not mix - just keep layering. Next, sprinkle 1/4 cinnamon/sugar mix over melted butter. Add 1/2 cup salted caramel chips on top. Cover and cook at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour (until done). Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, top with pecans or other nut variety.
Our new favorite bowls are from Denby USA! I love how they compliment our dinnerware set and transition so well from season to season.
The timeless, neutral tones and shape design of Denby's Natural Canvas make it a range suited to any home's style and color and works equally well when mixed and matched with other items.
While your one-pot recipe is baking, here are a few holiday tablescape styling tips to consider:
- Ambiance - candles (even battery operated) and music make any space feel more inviting.
- Fresh flowers - they add instant texture to your table and draw the eye in. I always look for discounted stems at the local grocery store and add them to a vintage confit pot like shown above.
- Tablecloth - it may require additional time on your part for cleaning, but it adds instant elegance.
I hope you enjoy the recipe and find the tablescape styling tips helpful! If you try my One-Pot Apple Dump Cake with Salted Caramel recipe, be sure to tag me at @maisondemings.
