This is a sponsored post, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
If you have been following us for very long, you know our mini-barn has seen quite the makeover over the last two years. We started with paint, added a lean-to for livestock and most recently completed our project with a new metal roof and copper accents.
Two years ago, we started with a very budget-friendly Mini-Barn Makeover and transformed the entire look of the barn in an afternoon. While I loved Benjamin Moore's Graystone for the main barn originally, with our new white metal roof, I needed a color that was more muted. For the final phase of our makeover project, I opted for Walmart's Sahara Desert Sand by Glidden.
When we decided to purchase our Olde English "Babydoll" Southdown Sheep last year, we knew we would need a sturdy 3-sided structure for protection. Adding on to the existing barn was a natural choice. With the new lean-to and partial metal roof, we transformed the "mini-barn" into a Sheep Barn.
As shown above, at the beginning of spring, our Sheep Barn had a lean-to, but the shingled roof needed updated. During the final phase of our makeover, we replaced the entire barn roof with metal.
My husband is a DIY'er at heart and installed everything himself. I'm not going to lie - it was a BIG job! It ended up saving us thousands though. The new metal roof really transformed the entire look of our backyard!
When we were drawing up plans for the final phase of our barn makeover, I started researching copper accents. Y'all know I'm obsessed with copper and it wasn't long before I found Good Directions! They offer a variety of outdoor copper products and more. The more I read about their company, the more I admired their leadership and small business practices.
We were honored to partner with Good Directions to complete the look of our barn add some French charm.
"Good Directions is a family-owned company founded by John Lodato. John is the son of an immigrant coal miner who set out to pursue his dream of bringing unique products for the home to the marketplace. Inspired by his customers' desire for quality accessories to enhance their homes, John collaborated with American artisans and craftsmen to create a unique collection of weathervanes and cupolas - and Good Directions was born."
To complete the look of our new barn, we knew we wanted to add a copper cupola and weathervane - I'm sure you noticed it in the previous photo. It was the final touch the barn needed!
Everything was easy to install - again, my husband did it all by himself! We are in love with the copper accents and nod to French style with the fleur-de-lis finial. Did you know it is a symbol of purity and piety?
We are so honored to have handmade copper pieces from the Lodato's family as part of our farm. I love how they encourage others to "create beauty in their surroundings and experience all the joy that outdoor living has to offer." Our hobby farm brings us an immense about of joy and we love being outside working in our new garden as well.
Good Directions expanded their original line of weathervanes and cupolas to offer a wide array of home and garden decor - truly something for everyone! Bird feeders, planters, bird houses and more! They make great gifts too that will last a lifetime.
Here is our nighttime view which is so magical with the twinkling lights and copper accents. The copper bird feeder is also from Good Directions.
As always, thanks for stopping by the blog. I hope this gives you several ideas to add copper accents to your own farm or garden.
