Our powder room has changed quite a bit since we purchased our home almost 5 years ago! The bathroom functioned well and had a good layout, but we didn't have a need for the bulky overhead cabinet. Removing it made the space feel so much larger! We also lived with the 80's sink situation while I kept my eye out for a sale on a sink/countertop combo.
Over time we also replaced the flooring, painted the vanity, and added new light fixtures. The small changes had such a big impact! We also added vertical shiplap, new hardware, and a new sink/countertop. See details of our first makeover here.
After living with the bright powder room for a few years, we decided to make a fun change on a whim! We had some leftover paint from my husband’s office makeover which was perfect for a bolder look.
Paint is such a great way to refresh a space on a budget! The color was WAY outside my comfort zone, but we love the results! The color seems to complement our vintage touches perfectly.
The color reads darker since it’s a small bathroom with no natural light, but you can see more of the true color below. This is the exact paint and finished we used.
Over the last few years, we have been adding warmer tones throughout our home to reflect more of our style. The pop of color in our powder works perfectly! You can see how I painted 1/2 of the door trim for an easy transition to our white laundry room.
I would suggest checking your local Facebook Marketplace for vintage copper and brass sconces. You can find the rug at Target here.
